Speed dating that runs itself.
Shapley Match tells every guest who to sit with and at which table, respects who they want to meet, and handles likes and matches at the end of the night. Guests just scan a QR code. No app, no accounts, nothing kept.
At an event? Scan the QR code at the bar, or enter the event code.
How it works
The bar sets up the night in a minute. Everyone else only needs their phone's camera.
For guests
- 1Scan the QR code at the bar. Pick a name, who you are and who you'd like to meet. A picture is optional.
- 2Follow your phone. Each round it says "Stay at table 5" or "Go to table 8", with your date's name and a timer. If there's no date for you, you take a break or have a friendly chat.
- 3Like people quietly. Tap a heart in your Likes tab. Nobody ever sees it unless they liked you too.
- 4Match and chat. When the host reveals matches, you see who liked you back, put them in order if there's more than one, and chat with your match.
For hosts
- 1Create the event with a name and the number of tables, and show the QR code.
- 2Tap "Next round". Shapley Match works out the pairs and tables, and you check them, pick the minutes and an optional conversation starter, then start.
- 3Stay in control. Add a minute, end a round early, keep two people apart, help someone who lost their page.
- 4Reveal the matches when you're ready, and the app does the rest. You never see who liked whom.
What we care about
โ๏ธ Fair
Nobody gets the same date twice. Breaks are spread out: whoever waited longest goes first. The app always fits in as many dates as the room allows.
๐ For everyone
Men, women and everyone else, meeting whoever they want. Interest has to go both ways: you're only paired with people who'd also like to meet you.
๐ Private
No accounts and no tracking. Likes are secret unless they're mutual, the host never sees them, and everything is deleted 3 days after the event. Pictures are never even saved.
๐ Kind
No scores, no counts, no competing for the same person. Everyone ends up with at most one connection, chosen from everyone's preferences. If it's not your night, the app says so gently.
The math, for the curious
Seating a room where anyone can meet anyone is a classic problem in graph theory. Each round Shapley Match finds the best pairing with Edmonds' blossom algorithm, places pairs at tables so the fewest people stand up, and at the end of the night gives everyone at most one connection that nobody would want to swap.
How it works, step by step โPrivacy, in short
- No accounts for guests: a first name or nickname is enough.
- Who you want to meet is only used to find your dates.
- Likes stay secret unless they're mutual. The host never sees them.
- Pictures are made small on your phone and never saved on our side.
- Chats are only between you and your match.
- Everything about an event is deleted 3 days after it ends.
