Terms of Use

These terms apply to everyone who uses Shapley Match: guests at an event, and the venues (hosts) who run one. "We" means Shapley Match, the provider of the tool. Contact: hello@shapleymatch.com.

Each event is organized by a venue, named when you join. The venue is responsible for the event and for your data there; we provide the tool it uses. See the Privacy Policy.

What Shapley Match does

Shapley Match is a tool that helps run speed-dating nights: it tells guests who to sit with and where, lets them like the people they met, and lets mutual matches chat for a few days. It does not arrange dates outside the event and doesn't check who people are.

Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older.
• Access for venues is by invitation only: we give each venue its own login, and it may only use it for events it actually runs. We can turn a login off at any time.
• Guests don't need an account and don't pay anything to use Shapley Match at an event.

Be decent

When you use Shapley Match, you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, insult or pressure anyone, in person or in the chat;
• pretend to be someone else, or join an event you aren't at;
• upload pictures that aren't of you, or that are sexual, violent or hateful;
• use the chat for spam, advertising or anything illegal;
• try to break, overload or get around the service's protections.

Anyone can end a chat at any time, and hosts can remove guests and pictures from their event. We can stop events or turn off host logins that break these terms.

Venues

Venues are responsible for their event, including the safety of guests, following local laws, and answering guests' questions about their data. Venues must not use what they see in Shapley Match (like guests' names and preferences) for anything other than running the event. Venues also agree to Shapley Match's data processing agreement.

Meeting people

Shapley Match helps you meet people, but we don't know them and can't vouch for them. Use common sense when sharing contact details or meeting someone again. Matches depend on who comes and who likes whom: there's no guarantee of any date or match.

Your content

You're responsible for what you write and the pictures you add. You keep your rights to them; you only let us show them to the people described in the Privacy Policy, for as long as the event exists.

No guarantees

Shapley Match is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it working, but it may be unavailable at times, for example if daily usage limits are reached. As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for what people do at or after an event. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law as a consumer.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. You can stop using Shapley Match at any time. Event data is deleted 3 days after the event ends either way.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Italy, without taking away protections you have where you live.
